Staff Spotlight: Thao Do

Thao has earned her Master of Public Health from UCLA with a focus on community health program design and evaluation. Over five years of experience in program management across public health and workforce development, implementing initiatives that improve community outcomes.
What do you like to do in your free time?:
Baking breads, restorative yoga, and taking my cat out for a walk.
What sparked your interest about working for CITE?:
I was really drawn to CITE’s focus on building community - bringing IT professionals together to learn, connect, and support each other. Knowing that this work helps strengthen the state’s education system made it even more meaningful to me. It’s the kind of impact I’m excited to be part of.
What excites you most about your new role here at CITE?:
What excites me most is the opportunity to learn in a new space and apply what I’ve gained from my past experience in a different context. I’m especially excited to work on speaker sessions for CITE’s annual conference. It’s my first time being involved in conference planning, so I’ve been enjoying the process so far and aim to contribute in a fun and meaningful way.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?:
I like to take workshops and classes to keep expanding my creative repertoire; right now I’ve got my eye on Chinese brush painting and silversmithing.
