Look What Your Board Did This Week
The CITE Board of Directors was very busy last week! From advocacy to AI policy and strategic planning, the board was hard at work representing and supporting our community. It was a week full of action, impact, and dedication to our mission! Here is a glimpse into what our CITE Board was up to last week…
Directors-at-Large Chris Clark and Jerry Jones Visit Sacramento
Directors-at-Large Chris Clark and Jerry Jones were in Sacramento for the committee hearing for AB 810, the bill that would have required K-12 schools to switch to a .gov domain. Their presence was instrumental in changing the language to exclude K-12 from the bill, thereby saving Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) from a significant amount of work and expense. This has been an ongoing conversation that CITE has supported in favor of LEAs and is grateful to see a positive result.

AI Policies in K-12 Schools Webinar
CITE Board President and Assistant Superintendent with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, David Thurston, held a 3-hour webinar in collaboration with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) that addressed smart Artificial Intelligence (AI) policies for K-12 schools. During this event, he shared valuable information on policy and process and discussed the future of AI in schools. His insights were well-received and provided a comprehensive overview of how AI can be integrated into educational settings.
CITE Board of Directors Meeting
On Friday, April 11, 2025, the full CITE Board convened to review the current status of CITE and our initiatives. These include the forthcoming CITE Conference, newly developed Education Programs, ongoing member support, and the continuous advancement of Resource and Service Programs. At present, conference registration is progressing well, and we strongly encourage members to register early to benefit from the early bird discounts.
The CITE Board and Staff strive to support our community and CITE members. The board's proactive approach and dedication to addressing key issues ensure that CITE remains a vital resource for the education community.
As we look ahead, the CITE Board remains committed to championing the needs of our members, staying at the forefront of educational technology, and ensuring our community continues to thrive.
