Program Overview

The CITE Technology Procurement Academy offers an in-depth look at procurement best practices and resources in a K-12 IT environment. By the end of the academy, students will have gained practical skills (ex. creating a bidding matrix, procurement calendar, and board proposal) and will have a strong understanding of important procurement policies, regulations, and recent changes to the landscape. This course will take place through asynchronous online content, five (5) Zoom discussion sessions, and real-world assignments. This course is designed for professionals with at least some working knowledge of the procurement environment.  

This academy might be for you if: 

  • You already work in technology procurement and want access to the latest best practices and regulations.

  • Procurement is a part of your technology leadership role and you want to deepen your knowledge.

  • You are transitioning into technology procurement but already have some working knowledge of procurement basics (i.e. legal guidelines, ed code requirements, state vs. local policies).

  • Module 1: Technology Procurement Fundamentals - Wednesday, April 1, 9:00-10:30am via Zoom 
  • Module 2:  Exceptions to Bid Requirements - Wednesday, April 8, 9:00-10:30am via Zoom
  • Module 3: Public Works & CUPCCAA - Wednesday, April 15, 9:00-10:30am via Zoom
  • Module 4: Governance & State Funding Sources - Wednesday, April 22, 9:00-10:30am via Zoom
  • Module 5: Federal Funding Sources & ERATE Compliance  - Wednesday, April 29, 9:00-10:30am via Zoom
