2026 CTOM Applications Now Open

The CTO Mentor Program is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort!
Aspiring or current CTOs are encouraged to apply.
Visit the CTOM Program Homepage
The CTOM Program was started in 2006 to create qualified CTOs within California’s K-12 public schools. The program seeks to inform Superintendents and District Leaders of the importance of a cabinet-level CTO position and to produce cabinet-worthy CTOs.
Candidates attend monthly classes that cover a broad range of education, leadership, and technology topics, and are immersed in a cohort experience that expands their network and opens new doors. After class, Candidates complete rigorous assignments that are directly tied to their day-to-day responsibilities and that require them to strengthen their cabinet-level CTO skills. For a complete list of class topics and what the program offers, visit the CTOM website.
Class will be held in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with the June and July classes held virtually. There will be no class in August.
By the end of the program, Candidates are prepared to lead, discuss, and participate in:
-
their district’s LCAP
-
learning theory with teachers
-
financial know-how with their CBO
-
meaningful team experiences with their subordinates
-
and much more!
Finally, one of the most unique aspects of the CTO Mentor Program is the fact that each Candidate is paired with a Mentor. Candidates and Mentors work together over the course of the year, with the Mentor providing feedback, guidance, and support as needed. This support is invaluable as Mentors have either completed the CTO Mentor Program or are CTOs themselves!
For Potential Candidates - to apply, you must fill out an application and receive a nomination. Both are due by September 2nd.
For Potential Mentors - to apply to be a mentor, you must fill out an application. Your application is due by September 30th.
