We hear it time and again—our community is what makes CITE special. Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen those connections and make a lasting impact.

Whether you think of CITE as your Professional Home, Trusted Network, or Support Squad, it all comes down to sharing your time, knowledge, and talent with peers who understand the unique challenges of IT in education.

All committee and task force work must be driven by
CITE’s vision, mission, and core values:

  • Shaping the Future of Education Through Technology
  • To lead, develop, and support technologists and education organizations to
    inspire student success.

Volunteer to support a variety of CITE programs that benefit all members. We have several committees currently seeking members: Conference (1), Member Engagement (2), and Resource Programs & Service Programs (2). We also have opens for anyone interested in participating in the Awards Task Force.

Committee Applications are open through February 16, 2026.

Speak at CITE Conference:
Each November CITE Members share their expertise and experience with the attendees of the CITE Annual Conference. Whether you’re a veteran speaker or pushing yourself to try something new – look for the call for presentation in the spring and lend your voice to the conversation. Look for information in the CITE Newsletter.

CITE CoLabs:

Want to moderate a Collaboration Lab? Have other information to share? Reach out to membership@cite.org and we will help direct you.

Speak at CITE Education Programs:
KITT, TMAP, and CTOM Grads have opportunities to support CITE’s Educational Programs. Opportunities include facilitating classes, reviewing assignments, and conducting mock interviews.

Regional Group Leadership:
The dedicated volunteers that run each of CITE’s 21 Regional Groups are always looking for those that want to take on roles within the community. Lead a job-alike discussion, host a meeting, present, or take on a leadership role. Reach out to the leadership team in your area and see how you can help.

Not ready for a formal volunteer role? Take a few minutes to respond to posts in the CITE Online Community. This is an easy and impactful way to support collaboration with your peers at CITE.

Feel free to reach out to membership@cite.org with any questions. We are happy to connect you with the resources you need.
