American Bar Association Honors Mark Williams with the Daniel J. Curtin, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award

F3 Law is proud to announce that the American Bar Association has honored Mark Williams at the Jefferson B. Fordham Society’s award luncheon with the Daniel J. Curtin, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award. This national honor recognizes Williams’ extraordinary contributions to the legal profession and his groundbreaking work in data privacy for school districts and educational institutions across the nation.

The Jefferson Fordham Awards are among the highest honors bestowed by the ABA, the national body of lawyers that sets the standards for the legal profession. This award distinguishes Williams not just as a leader in his field, but as a visionary whose career has fundamentally reshaped the landscape of education technology and student rights.

Williams’ career is defined by legal innovation, including his central role in shaping California’s data privacy requirements. What began as a state-level initiative has since morphed into a national model adopted by 38 states to protect the privacy and digital security of millions of students.

Mark’s work is foundational to the California Data Privacy Agreement, which eventually was adopted as the National Data Privacy Agreement. CITE is grateful to Mark S.
