The Technology Management Advancement Program (TMAP) track aims to deliver a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for current and future IT managers in K-12 institutions.
The program follows a cohort-based model, allowing candidates to build a professional network that extends beyond the program's completion.
Curriculum
The CITE TMAP curriculum is designed to offer a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for current and aspiring IT Managers in K-12 institutions. This six module program provides candidates with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of disaster planning, contracts and procurement, service lifecycle, team management, and project management. Additionally, participants will strengthen their skills in business writing, situational analysis, self-reflection, and presentation.
- Module 1: K-12 Technology Management
- This module addresses the unique K-12 environment as well as how you as a technology manager can increase the effectiveness of your role.
- Module 2: Technology Administration
- This module examines the priorities for K-12 technology departments, including technology procurement and service lifecycle management.
- Module 3: Team Management
- This module focuses on building an effective team and navigating the role transition from peer to manager.
- Module 4: Project Management
- This module introduces key project management principles and tools to help K-12 technology leaders plan and manage projects efficiently.
- Module 5: Cybersecurity
- This module covers the fundamentals of cybersecurity management in K-12 education, including CIS controls, risk assessment, and disaster recovery planning.
- Module 6: Next Level Technology Leadership
- This module builds on the skills required to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
