Event Details

The CITE Cybersecurity 101 Academy offers in-depth guidance into cybersecurity basics along with real-world application opportunities. By the end of the academy, students will have gained practical skills (ex. identify common cyber threats in K-12 education, apply incident response concepts to attack scenarios, evaluate COE-hosted firewalls, etc.) and will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and resources applicable to the K-12 IT industry.

This course will take place through asynchronous online content and five Zoom sessions, which include two tabletop activities and real-world assignments. This course is designed for professionals who are newer to the cybersecurity K-12 world.

This academy might be for you if:

  • You recently took on a role in K-12 cybersecurity and would like a supportive professional development cohort.
  • You’re interested in applying for or transitioning into a K-12 cybersecurity role and have some working knowledge of cybersecurity basics.
  • You’re versed in cybersecurity but are new to the K-12 IT space and want to learn more about this specific industry.
